The Council
Alberta’s network for elected officials sharing a commitment to climate action at the local level.
The Alberta Municipal Climate Leadership Council advances climate leadership and collaboration at the local level. The group fosters innovation and success by bringing together elected officials from different municipalities to share knowledge, build relationships and develop new skills and capacities.
Members of the AMCLC gain access to targeted and evidence-based education and capacity development opportunities, peer learning and connection, and a collaboration and action-focused learning environment.

“The Alberta Municipal Leadership Council has been a great resource for me as an elected official. It connects me to other elected officials in Alberta working to move climate action forward and provides me with current resources and data on climate change related topics in Alberta.”
Councillor Rachel Swendseid, Town of Okotoks

“Having the opportunity to participate in the Alberta Climate Leadership Council has been extremely beneficial. I not only learn from the facilitators and guest speakers, but I also find it very valuable to listen to my colleagues from across Alberta who are undertaking important initiatives in their communities. MCCAC always ensures this is a safe and respectful space for this important dialogue. For me, these meetings and connections to MCCAC reinforce that our community is on the right path, and I look forward to the new playbook and explorer tools that will be available to help us navigate this journey.”
